Guess what!!!! We can READ!!!! Yes we sure can!!! In fact we are bringing home our  first book to read to you tonight!!!! But I couldn't wait! I needed to share with you right now!!

I am finally able to open some volunteer spots!!! Yay!! Please keep in mind when volunteering your child/grandchild has to be able to stay focused and with me and not get upset when you leave!! If you try volunteering and it is hard for them (they are my first priority!!) then we may have to stop and try again later when they are more comfortable!!!

Donors Choose

There is a FANTASTIC website called Donors Choose, which helps teachers get funding for items they need in their classroom from places other than the school money or their own pockets!! I have created my first Donors Choose project for the year. You can find it here:

Seuss-tastic Cutting and Pasting

Today we did my most dreaded lesson of the year!!! Cutting and Pasting!!! Your littles BLEW ME AWAY!!!! They did incredible, probably the best group of cutters I have had in 7 years of Kindergarten!! Take a look at some of their awesome skill!!!

And gluing just got even better!! What a great start to the year!!

Also today we answered our essential question for the week: What is Kindergarten?

Some answers were:

"A place to learn"

"A place to play on the playground after we work"

"A place to have friends"

"Where we learn and have fun"

"Where we are big kids and get our own food"

I think they have figured out what Kindergarten is, don't you!!!

First Weeks of K

So sorry it has taken me so long to get a post up, but I locked myself out of the blog :(

Now that I am back in lets take a look at what we have been doing!! Check out these pictures, I have some videos too I will try to post this weekend!!

Today we learned about 3 star coloring! So when you see a paper come home with stars you know what that means!!! 

We have been practicing our names LOTS!!!! We are using play dough to make our names!! Play dough is on our wish list!!!

We have been learning how to use all the different math manipulatives we have in our classroom. Soon we will be ready to start math stations!!
